Bonus Files: Get Your Bird Back: What to do when a Parrot is Lost

Lost Bird Flyers

We have created a number of Lost Bird Flyers featuring pictures of various different kinds of birds. Feel free to download and use them and to change them as you wish. Good Bird Inc recommends that you download and print flyers in advance and keep them handy, along with tape and a stapler. This will save precious time if your bird is ever lost.

If you notice a species is not listed it is because we need a good photo of that species. If you have a photo and would grant Good Bird Inc permission to use your photo in a lost bird flyer, please contact us via our contact page.

The Lost Bird Flyers are Microsoft Word documents. This is to allow parrot owners to modify the flyers if needed. If you do not have a program that can read Microsoft Word documents, please visit www.openoffice.org. This site offers free software that will allow you to open the files

MP3's of Parrot Calls

These calls are to help you find your bird in the event your parrot escapes. The calls are MP3’s which can be downloaded onto any portable MP3 player such as an ipod. Portable speakers that attach to MP3 players can be purchased usually for under $10 US at most electronics stores. If you are searching for your bird, we recommend you play the parrot call that most closely corresponds to your species of parrot. After you play the call, stop and listen for a response. Many parrots are found because they vocalize loudly when they hear another parrot call.

We do recommend you record your own parrot vocalizing to keep on hand if necessary. However if you have not done this, we have provided a collection of parrot calls below. We have tried to collect as many species as possible. However we do apologize if your species is not represented.
